Charges laid in Marlborough CTrain station stabbing: Calgary Police

Calgary, Alberta – We have charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred yesterday at the Marlborough CTrain station.

At approximately 4 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, we were called to the Marlborough CTrain station, located at 889 36 St. N.E., for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police located one man suffering from stab wounds. The man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition. His condition has since been upgraded to serious but stable.

After speaking with witnesses, officers quickly identified and located a suspect, who was leaving the station on foot, and took him into custody.

Massimo CIVITAREALE, 46, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of failing to comply with a release order, and three outstanding transit-related warrants. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, May 12, 2023.
