Dangerous driver strikes multiple vehicles in Red Deer, Alberta

Red Deer, Alberta – On May 10, 2023 Red Deer RCMP received reports of a possible impaired driver who was driving dangerously throughout the City. The driver of the vehicle struck numerous vehicles and failed to remain at the scene of the collisions.

Red Deer RCMP commenced an investigation and the vehicle was located a short time later. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had been reported as stolen the previous evening and was later found abandoned.

The Red Deer General Investigation Section with the assistance of Red Deer General Duty, Red Deer Police Dog Services, and a RCMP Helicopter were able to locate the driver who was operating a second stolen vehicle in a dangerous manner. The vehicle was immobilized and the driver was arrested without incident.

32-year our Glen PRIMROSE of Red Deer has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Traffic Safety Act offences:

Possession of property under $5000 dollars;

Theft of motor vehicle;

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;

Fail to comply with release order;

Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited;

Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug under sec 88.1 (4)(a) TSA

Resisting arrest;

Mischief under $5000;

Fail to remain at the scene of accident 69(1)(A) TSA;

PRIMROSE has been remanded for court on May 12, 2023 at 9:30 am.
