Edmonton Police seek public’s assistance identifying suspect following assault

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two male suspects following an assault in northwest Edmonton in February.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at approximately 11:25 a.m., police responded to an assault at a grocery store in the area of Castledowns Road and 153 Avenue. It was reported to police that two unknown male suspects exited the store with a cart full of groceries without paying. The suspects were chased from the store and when a bystander intervened, he was assaulted by the suspects.

The male suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries and attended hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

Officers continue to actively investigate this incident and are hopeful the public may be able to assist with the identification of the suspects.

Suspect #1 is described as a male between 20 and 25 years old, with dark medium length hair, some dark facial hair, wearing grey sweatpants, black shoes with a black quilted diamond patterned jacket.

Suspect #2 is described as a male between 20 and 25 years old, dark hair, average height, wearing dark pants, a black hoodie with the hood up with a camouflage jacket over top.
