Viking, Alberta – On May 18, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Killam RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 14 near Range Road 145, close to Viking, Alta. Upon arrival, it was discovered that two half ton pickup trucks had been involved in a head on collision.
The driver of one of the trucks, a 61-year-old-male resident of Viking, was pronounced deceased on scene. The other driver was transported via ambulance to hospital with undetermined injuries.
An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended to the scene and the cause of the collision is under investigation. The road has since been re-opened.
