Vegreville RCMP execute search warrant and charge high risk offender

Vegreville, Alberta – On Nov. 22, 2017, Alberta RCMP provided a warning to the public regarding Robert Ventress, a high risk offender who was released from custody after serving a sentence for various sexual offences. At this time, RCMP believed there was a risk to the public.

On May 21, 2023, Vegreville RCMP executed a search warrant on a property in Vegreville after receiving information that Ventress was breaching conditions of his release, specifically by being in an area where there were children and by being in possession of electronics which he was not permitted to have. Vegreville RCMP seized property and various electronics which were a breach of his release conditions.

Robert Edward Ventress (53), a resident of Vegreville, was arrested and has been charged with six counts of failing to comply with his release order.

After a Judicial Release Hearing, Ventress was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Vegreville on June 1, 2023.

As this matter is before the courts no additional information can be released.
