Edmonton, Alberta – Two people who had a firearm pointed at them in a Manning Crossing parking lot are being asked to come forward to police.
At approximately 6 a.m. on May 29, 2023, police responded to a 911 call at the Safeway gas bar in Manning Crossing, where it was reported that a man was pointing a firearm at people.

The suspect reportedly pointed the firearm at a female employee before she locked herself into a back room at the gas bar. He was also observed pointing the firearm at two unknown witnesses. Investigators are asking these two individuals to come forward.
Police quickly located the suspect in the area and took him into custody. The firearm was later located in a nearby backyard, and is believed to have been fired at some point during the incident.
Joey Benoit-Fiorta, 32 is charged with possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, and possession of a weapon.
