Neepawa RCMP investigate fatal UTV collision; “officers saw three females who had been ejected from the UTV”

RM of Glenella-Lansdowne, Manitoba – On May 1, 2023, at approximately 7:45 pm, Neepawa RCMP received a report of a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) rollover. Officers attended immediately. Upon arrival at the scene, officers saw three females who had been ejected from the UTV in need of medical attention.

Investigation has determined that the youths were travelling on Road 76 West, approximately 400 metres south of the Road 83 North intersection, when the UTV slid into the ditch, rolling several times.

The driver and one passenger, both 14 years old, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The second passenger, a 12-year-old female, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. On May 5, 2023, she succumbed to those injuries.

None of the females were wearing seatbelts or helmets.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
