Treherne, Manitoba – On May 27, 2023, at approximately 11:45 am, Treherne RCMP responded to an assault at a residence in Cypress River.
Officers attended and located the victim, an adult female, with minor injuries.
RCMP located the male suspect and advised him he was under arrest. When officers were attempting to handcuff the male, he became combative and proceeded to assault them. The suspect also attempted to disarm the officers and after a brief struggle, he was placed into custody.
The officers received minor injuries.
While the suspect was in custody he threatened the officers and spit at an officer.
Bailey Vaillant, 21, of Winkler, has been charged with:
Disarming a Police Officer
Assault on Police Officer x3
Uttering Threats x2
Assault
Resisting Arrest
He was remanded into custody.
