Warrant issued for suspect in Whyte Avenue area shooting; Edmonton Police seek public assistance locating witness

Edmonton, Alberta – Police are seeking a suspect on a Canada-wide warrant in a 2021 Whyte Avenue murder, as well as information on another male who may be a witness.

At approximately 2:18 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, police were called to the report of a shooting in the area of 81 Avenue and 104 Street.

When officers arrived, they located the victim, Tanraj Deogen, 24, on the street and attempted life-saving measures, but he died on scene. An Oct. 7, 2021 autopsy confirmed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound, and that the manner of death was homicide.

A Canada-wide warrant has now been issued for Dylan Furaha-Inkindi, 25, who is wanted for Deogen’s murder. He may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Police are also seeking the public’s assistance to identify a second male who may be a witness in this investigation. He is pictured below, and was wearing a distinctive jacket, pictured at right.
