Child dies in hospital after being struck by holiday trailer pulled by truck in Grande Prairie

Grande Prairie, Alberta – On June 2, 2023 at approximately 3:24 p.m. Grande Prairie RCMP along with Fire and Emergency Services attended a pedestrian collision at the intersection of 100 Avenue and 96 Street in Grande Prairie.

Preliminary investigation indicates a truck pulling a holiday trailer was travelling west bound on 100 Avenue when at 96 Street the holiday trailer struck a child on a bicycle. The child suffered serious injuries and was taken for treatment by EMS; however, succumbed to their injuries and died at hospital.

The intersection has since re-opened.

Grande Prairie RCMP continue to investigate this tragic event.

Grande Prairie, Alta. – Grande Prairie RCMP are currently on scene of a fatal pedestrian collision at the intersection of 100 Avenue and 96 Street.

Traffic is being re-routed from location and RCMP are advising motorists to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.

Grande Prairie RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Grande Prairie RCMP send their condolences to the families and loved ones involved in this incident.
