Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services investigates homicide on Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On June 6, 2023, at approximately 6:30 am, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service responded to a shooting outside a residence on Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation.

A 39-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MFNPS contacted the RCMP for assistance.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and the Emergency Response Team are currently in the community investigating.

This does not appear to be a random incident.
