Lloydminster, Alberta – In May 2023, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) began an investigation into drug trafficking within the Lloydminster area. As a result of the investigation, on May 29, 2023, Lloydminster GIS conducted a traffic stop resulting in the seizure of:
· 47 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
· Brass knuckles
· A handgun style BB gun
· A digital scale, various drug paraphernalia items
As a result of the traffic stop, a warrant was issued to search a near by residence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act where RCMP found further evidence of drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged 42-year-old Christopher Ironstand, a resident of Lloydminster with:
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking
· Possession of prohibited weapon
Ironstand was released with his next court appearance set for August 15, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster Alberta.
