Lloydminster, Saskatchewan – On June 21, 2023, at approximately 11:45 a.m. Lloydminster RCMP received multiple calls from the public regarding a male with a gun near a public event near 49th Avenue and 46 Street, Lloydminster.
Police attended the location and conducted a tactical arrest of the male suspect due to the high-risk nature of the call and potential danger to the general public. Police seized a prohibited weapon from the suspect, as well as evidence that the suspect had been in possession of an imitation firearm.
Police believe that the suspect discarded the imitation firearm prior to Police attending. Charges are currently pending against the suspect.
