Cochrane, Alberta – On July 1, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Cochrane RCMP were dispatched to a collision on Highway 743 at Hunter Valley Road. It was reported that a side by side struck a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the pedestrian, a 42-year-old male resident of Olds, Alta., was hit from behind by a side by side while he was walking. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the side by side sustained injuries as well and was taken to a nearby hospital. He has since been released.
The investigation continues. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased.
