Rocky View County, Alberta – On June 9, 2023, Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to the report of a suspicious death in the area of Range Road 284 and Township Road 264, in Rocky View County. An autopsy was conducted at the Calgary Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on June 13, 2023, and the manner of death was deemed a homicide. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Jaiteg Singh Waraich.


Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) are investigating and need assistance from the public in solving this crime.
Jaiteg may have been going by a different name while living in Canada. In consultation with his family, MCU are releasing photos of Jaiteg in the event that someone recognizes him and has information that may assist this investigation.

Airdrie Rural RCMP investigate suspicious death – Update
Rocky View County, Alta. – On June 9, 2023, at approximately 8:32 a.m., Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to the report of a suspicious death in the area of Range Road 284 and Township Road 264, in Rocky View County.
An autopsy was conducted at the Calgary Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on June 13, 2023, and the manner of death was deemed a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jaiteg Singh Waraich. Jaiteg was last known to reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, as of the fall of 2022. RCMP are looking for friends or family in North America, or anyone who has had contact with him in the last year. We are seeking their assistance, as well as the assistance of anyone who may know what led Waraich to the Calgary area.

Airdrie Rural RCMP investigate suspicious death
Rocky View County, Alta. – On June 9, 2023, at approximately 8:32 a.m., Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to the report of a suspicious death in the area of Range Road 284 and Township Road 264, in Rocky View County. At this time, the road is closed at the intersection of RR 284 and TWP 264, just north of RR 284. Please avoid the area.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
An autopsy will be performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
Residents in the area can expect an increased police presence for the next few days, and can also expect road closures in the area.
