Southern Alberta – RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with the assistance of Calgary Police Service and Lethbridge Police Service, closed an investigation into 25 break and enters in Calgary, Lethbridge, and several RCMP rural communities, including Raymond, Coaldale, Vulcan, Strathmore and Diamond Valley. The RCMP first became involved on June 10, 2023, when the suspect broke into a business in Diamond Valley.
The suspect would drive an electric scooter to all locations and then used an angle grinder or concrete saw to gain access to the ATM. It is believed he stole more than $15, 000 during all break ins. On July 14, 2023, the suspect was caught in Calgary during a break and enter at a business on 16 Ave in NW Calgary.

David Letourneau-Janveaux (30), a resident of Calgary, has been charged with seventy (70) offences, some of which include:
Break and Enter to Commit Theft
Break and Enter to Commit Mischief
Mischief Over $5000
Theft Over $5000
Possession of Break in Instruments
Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
Possession of Prohibited Weapon
Possession a Firearm Knowing it’s Possession was Unauthorized
Unauthorized Transport of a Firearm
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Letourneau-Janveaux was remanded into custody. His next RCMP court appearance is in Alberta Court of Justice in Calgary on Aug. 16, 2023.
