Male facing sexual assault charges in connection to Terwillegar pool incidents

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged a 26-year-old Edmonton man with sexual assault-related offences in connection to groping incidents in the Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre pool that occurred earlier this month.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, Aug. 9th, 2023, at around 7 p.m., a 26-year-old male attended and used the recreation centre pool. Between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., the accused reportedly groped four females, two of which are under the age of 16, while swimming in the pool and lazy river.

Police have since charged Yaser Moshfeq, 26, of Edmonton, with sexual interference (x2) sexual assault (x2). EPS investigators believe there may be other complainants that were also sexually assaulted by the accused that evening.

Police are encouraging any other females that were swimming in the Terwillegar pool between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Aug. 9th, who may have also been inappropriately touched by an adult male, to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
