Peace Regional RCMP make arrest in break and enter to a residence

Grimshaw, Alberta – On Aug. 25, 2023, at 7:40 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress to a garage outside of a residence, in the area of 47 avenue, in Grimshaw. Upon arrival, police found that an individual had barricaded themselves inside. After gaining entry to the garage, police arrested an individual, who was concealed within.

As a result of the investigation, Brett Ryland Thibault (37), a resident of Grimshaw, was arrested and charged with:

Break and enter and commit mischief;

Possession of break-in instruments;

Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl);

Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine); and

Failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

Thibault, who was at large on a release order at the time of his arrest, was brought before a justice of the peace, following which he was remanded into custody. He is next scheduled to appear on Sept. 7, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Falher.
