Spitting in face of Saskatoon police officer during domestic disturbance earns suspect assault charge

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – A man was arrested after assaulting a police officer that was attending to a domestic disturbance last night.

At around 10:45 p.m. on September 6, 2023, police responded to the 300 block of Avenue F South for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered an uncooperative man believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant causing a disturbance in the residence. Following unsuccessful attempts to gain verbal compliance from the man, officers effected an arrest. He then spit in the face of an arresting Constable.

As a result, the 44-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
