Red Deer, Alberta – On Aug. 1, 2023, at approximately 8:25 P.M., Red Deer RCMP responded to a call to assist an elderly male.
Red Deer RCMP were advised that an elderly male was suffering from serious head injuries after being assaulted by multiple individuals outside of his vehicle.
RCMP attend 5020 47 Ave., and located a male who needed immediate medical attention. Emergency Medial Services attended and transported the male to hospital where he was admitted for medical treatment.
Following an investigation by Red Deer RCMP and General Investigation Section (GIS), 4 youths have been arrested and charged for aggravated assault. 2 further suspects are pending arrest. The youth cannot be named due to their age.
Following Judicial Interim Release Hearings, the 4 youth were released to appear in Alberta Court of Justice Youth Court on Sept. 21, 2023 in Red Deer.
