Police investigating suspicious death in Southwest Edmonton; “weapons complaint inside an apartment building” – UPDATED

Edmonton, Alberta – An autopsy has been completed in the death of a male that occurred in southwest Edmonton yesterday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Southwest Branch patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint inside an apartment building in the area of 83 Avenue and 101 Street. Upon arrival they located a male with serious injuries. The male was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.

Earlier today, Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Jason Moch, 38, which determined he died as a result of a gunshot wound. The manner of death is homicide.

Moch also went by the names of “Eric” and “Mocha.”

Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
