Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate Stabbing of 16-year-old at apartment complex, seek suspects

Wetaskiwin, Alberta – On Sept. 9, 2023, at 11:26 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP received a report of a stabbing outside of the Westwind apartments on 39 ave. in Wetaskiwin.

Upon arrival, RCMP met a 16-year-old victim with serious injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital by EMS where he was later airlifted by STARS to Edmonton and remains in serious condition. The investigation has revealed that while outside, some youth had a verbal altercation with individuals inside the Westwind Apartments. Approximately 3 suspects exited the apartment and one suspect appears to have stabbed the 16-year-old victim.

The investigation has been taken over the by the Wetaskiwin General Investigation Section who are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect(s)
