Athabasca RCMP investigate residential arson, family of 7 escapes flames

Athabasca, Alberta – On Sept. 9, 2023, at 2:35 a.m., Athabasca RCMP were called to a residential structure fire. Athabasca Fire and Associated Ambulance responded as well.

Upon arrival, multiple vehicles and the residence were on fire.

Upon arrival, multiple vehicles and the residence were on fire. A family of 7, the youngest being 1-year-old, escaped the fire uninjured.

Fire investigators and the RCMP Forensics Unit, attended the scene. At this time, the fire is deemed to be suspicious in nature.
