Edmonton Police Traffic Section officers investigate fatal collision involving pedestrian

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.

On Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, shortly after 3 p.m., EPS Major Collision officers were dispatched to the report of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a dump truck. It was reported to police that a pedestrian was heading south across 53 Avenue at 105 Street when a dump truck turning southbound onto 105 Street from 53 Avenue struck the pedestrian.

When responding officers arrived, they located a seriously injured male in his 50s. Paramedics also responded and treated the male, though sadly he succumbed to his injuries on scene.

The driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation.
