Regina Police charge 19-year-old with First Degree Murder following weekend Homicide

Regina, Saskatchewan – A 19 year-old male has been charged following the death of a 23 year-old male in Regina over the weekend.

On Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Winnipeg Street for a report of an injured male. EMS attended to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. As a result of police investigation:

Nineteen year-old Kesar SHANNON is facing the following charges:

First Degree Murder [cc 235(1)];

Disguise With Intent [CC 351 (2)];

Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];

Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime [CC 96(1)]; and

Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95(1)(B)].

SHANNON will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court, this morning, September 18, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
