Peace Regional RCMP lay charges of uttering threats in Marten Lake, Alberta

Marten Lake, Alberta – On Sept 17, 2023, Peace Regional RCMP responded to reports of an unwanted person in the area of Marten Lake where persons inside the home had barricaded themselves inside until help arrived.

RCMP, who were in the area, arrived shortly after and located the suspect male, Ray Travis Sawan (25), a resident of Marten Lake, was charged with the following:

Uttering threats x4

Taking motor vehicle without consent

Mischief under $5000

Assault

Failure to comply with Release Order x3: curfew, possession of weapon, being in vehicle without registered owner present

Stunting

Operation of motor vehicle without license

Ray was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was remanded into custody with a court date of Sept 18, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River, Alta.

As these matters are before the courts, no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided.
